A story about a girl from Firle
She had no need to roam

But no-one would talk to her
So she went to the Ram
And on the beach she had a dram
And then she had friends for sure

She needed to find herself some work
She was far too young to retire
So she learnt some skills
To pay the bills
And still had time for the bonfire

She needed to find herself a man
But there were no good men to be had
So on her bike she rode
Down the old coach road
And found herself a likely lad

She needed to find herself a house
But there were no good houses around
So she got onto the list
Crossed her fingers with a twist
And finally a place was found

She wanted to get a hat
'Cause her hair wasn't getting any thicker
To keep off the rain
Stop the sun being a pain
So she asked if she could borrow the Vicar's

She wanted to have some quiet
But there were people being noisy
Up the Beacon she climbed
Some peace to find
And chilled out with a view of the sea

She wanted to get some herbs
She had no parsley for her lunch
She went to Lord and Lady Gage's
And weeded there for ages
In return she got a nice big bunch

She wanted to have a puppy
So she asked Ba Ba for one of Victor's
In the cupboard it went
Made a little tent
Keeping warm among the socks and knickers
